How to iron trousers
Knowing how to iron trousers can mean you get to maintain your independence as a man yet still have your favourite suit bottoms keeping their tailored shape. The following is a simple yet well-grounded approach to trouser ironing.
Steps
1- Iron the pockets with the trousers inside out, laying them flat against the board.
2- Iron the fly area.
3- The trousers till inside out, iron the seams and bottom (hem) of the first leg, going back and forth until creases are removed. Repeat for the other leg and then turn back the right way around.
4- Iron the waist band. Over the end of the board with the flies facing down, iron the waistband, rotating pants around the board as you go.
5- Iron over the pockets to avoid creating creases cause by their outline.
6- Iron the legs from the outside. Fold the trousers along the line of the flies to have the legs laying on top of each other. Iron each leg, from the outside and then fold the other way, ironing the inside.
7- Set the desired creases with steam.
8- Hang the trousers straight away.
Tips
Always start ironing on a lower heat setting before slowly turning it up in order to avoid burning your trousers.
Turn your iron off immediately after you’ve finished using it!!
